Jeff Walker’s Product Launch Formula 2

Nothing against Jeff Walker, but just a thought here….

The pre-launch phase of Jeff Walker’s Product Launch Formula 2 has begun.  E-mails from many of the big online marketers are already being sent out and I expect that Jeff’s course will sell out.  I don’t have a problem with that because he knows his stuff and tends to deliver.  But, what can we learn from this product launch?

A while back I started questioning why I was subscribed to so many “guru” mailing lists.  Of course, the short answer is that I provided my name and e-mail to get a freebie or when I made a purchase.

I realized that my inbox was cluttered with a lot of e-mail I simply was not reading, so I began scrolling down the list of e-mail and if I could not remember the last time I read a message and got some value from a particular list I clicked the opt-out link.  I get a lot less e-mail now and remain blissfully unaware of most IM product launches.

The lists I remained on were from those marketers that I found appealed to me in some respect.  It wasn’t that they were sending me great free information, but I appreciated how they wrote their copy and how they structured their launches.  My interest in staying on their list was to watch how they were marketing and structuring their launches.

Now, you have to extrapolate a lot because you don’t see the inner workings of things.  Nonetheless, as Noah has pointed out, you can garner a great deal of information from just being an observer and soaking up everything they do.

Alex Mandosian has said many times that there is nothing he does by accident.  Every web page, PDF download, blog post, etc.  It all is thought out with a purpose.  If you accept that statement at face value, what he is really saying is “pay attention, because everything I am doing is a lesson to be learned…”  He’s a fantastic marketer.  I learn from just watching him try to sell to me.

As you begin to pay attention to these truly skilled persons, you will begin to recognize the imitators and wannabes.  Those are the e-mails you click the opt-out links on.  The folks who show real talent are worth taking the time to read because in all likelihood there is nothing that they are doing by accident whether it is sending out an e-mail, posting to a forum, commenting on a blog, etc.
