Discovered That I Have A Plan

I have been away from this blog for awhile, mostly because I have not been paying attention to the whole “Internet marketing” scene.  It’s not that I’ve given up or walked away from the business, but I have become totally burned out with all of the product launches, seminars, success formulas, you name it.

So, instead, I’ve just tuned all of that noise out.  Do you know what I discovered?

What I discovered is that the less I paid attention to what’s happening on the Internet marketing forums, with the various product launches, etc., the less I missed all of that.  I also found that I was able to devote my attention to my business, rather than trying to figure out whether someone else’s product was worth the money.

I think part of it was that I had truly just burned out on the scene.  There are some truly worthwhile products out there, but there is also a great deal of crap!  Just total crap…

A huge problem is that with all of that noise, you tend to lose focus on your own business.  I’m sure that I’m not the only one who watched someone’s YouTube video about how to use a social media site to drive huge traffic and dominate on Google.  Right?  Then, of course, drop whatever we’re doing to implement that information so we can drive bus loads of traffic.

Even if the traffic materializes, the problem we just created for ourselves is the fact that we were no longer working on our business plan…

Don’t get me wrong.  I’m all for experimentation, trying new things, and continuing education.  That needs to be fit into our schedule, but it should not be allowed to replace or supplant our business plan.  If some new technique proves effective, perhaps we need to work that into the game plan but it all needs to be focused on moving he ball forward in one direction.

If we can’t keep our focus, we’ll push in all directions and exhaust our time and energy not getting where we intended to go.
